Tanks
Tips And Tactics
- Don't charge into enemy captured flags. Rather, stay back and fire into the base before proceeding.
- If possible, be sure to have infantry support wherever you go. The tank is strong but fairly vulnerable to anti-tank weapons.
- The tanks have a much smaller arc of fire than they did in Battlefield 1942 (somewhere between vanilla Battlefield 1942 and Desert Combat). Their range is also significantly farther than in Battlefield 1942. This means you can usually take out targets that are far away, as well as hovering helicopters.
- Tanks have smoke launchers (Default key: X). They are unlimited, but have a reload period. Use them to cover infantry advances or to hide from that guy trying to launch rockets at you.
- When in a tank turret, you can hit crouch (default key: CTRL) to duck down into the protective shell of the turret. You will be shielded from ground fire while crouching in the turret, though you'll still be vulnerable to aircraft fire and splash damage from explosions. There is a bug with this; see Ducking in vehicle turrets.
- If you encounter an enemy tank, and it fires first, don't stop to fire back. Keep moving and then aim for him, a target in motion is a lot harder to hit than a sitting duck.

APCs
Tips And Tactics
- Give your fellow soldiers a ride. Don't just take the vehicle by yourself. If you see a "hey, I need a ride!" message or see friendly dots following you closely on the minimap, stop for a bit to give them a chance to catch up and get in.
- APCs are amphibious. Take a cruise out to the carrier. Surprise boats in the river.
- APCs, like tanks, have the ability to pop smoke (Default: X). Use it to cover assaults, retreats, or loading/unloading of passengers. Unlimited, but there is a recharge time.
- Since the APC is raised so high off the ground, it is possible for infantry to lay prone and avoid being run over, or crawl underneath the APC and hide from searching eyes.
APC-Specific Details
- LAV-25: APC
- BTR-90 APC
- M6 Bradley Linebacker (Not available in demo)
- M998 HMMWV
- The .50 cal mounted machine gun on the Humvee/Transport Vehicles is very effective against transport helicopters, if you catch them from a distance you have a good shot at taking the helicopter down.

Cars
- The DPV (from Desert Combat) is the USMC vehicle. It's smaller size and lower profile is countered by the fact that the turrets have a lower field of view than the jeep. Can someone confirm this?
- In any of the cars, up against any kind of armour, your best chance is to run. If you're up against a tank (from a reasonably close distance) try going very close to his side - it'll take him a while to turn his turret around, by which time you should be around the next corner.
- You can be shot by bullet weapons while sitting in a vehicle. This is why you need to run over troops ASAP (which is so satisfying.)
- A single rocket will take you down, so be very careful.

Other Ground Vehicles
Tips And Tactics
- When driving one of the fast moving dune buggies (American FAAV or Chinese/MEC FAV) feel free to run over enemy soldiers. Just because you aren't able to fire from your driver position doesn't mean that you have to be left out of the fun. The speed and turning ability of these vehicles makes it hard for enemy infantry to avoid you, and hard for enemy aircraft to hit you.
- This tactic is most effective when the enemy is performing an infantry rush from a close enemy point. The fast respawn time and grouping of the soldiers makes it easy pickings when you first start. Also, be on the lookout for squads running in a line formation behind their squad leader, I have wiped out whole six man squads by whipping my buggy around and lining up behind them. Another squad to watch for when you are wheeling around is the group of snipers that sets up camp in a far away spot, harassing the point you are spawning from. Because of their location in a seldom traveled part of the map, they don't expect anyone to disturb them.
- Beware of enemy tanks and APCs, since while your buggy is fast it has nothing in the way of armor. As far as enemy infantry, watch out for antitank guys waiting for you to rush them and engineers lacing your field of play with nasty mines.
