Point Farming
These exploits are supposedly addressed in patch 1.03. Remember that you can initiate a vote against anyone cheating.
Medic
Taken from riptyde's post
Using three players, here's how you do it:
First team with Medic and Victim (any class), second team with Killer (any class).
- All three go off and find a quiet spot together.
- Killer knifes Victim to receive 2 kill points.
- Medic revives Victim to get 2 revive points.
- Repeat from 2 until the round ends.
What to look for when in a game
Two players, one on each team, with scores far above those of other players. One player will have all kill points, the other all teamwork points. What to look for when looking at the leaderboard
High total score with relatively low total playing time. High accuracy (40% or higher), "best rounds" on various maps of incredibly high scores. Incredibly high "kill streak" (nobody can kill 600 guys in a row via normal play). Incredibly high number of knife kills. So for instance, this =BOD=Grim fellow has a best round of 2166 points on Dalian Plant when his other high scores are almost all below 100, has a kill streak of 613 in a row, and a combat accuracy of 43%. In addition, he has 4300 kills with a knife.
- This happened to me last night while I was playing as a commander. I was safely prone in a corner for about half the round when a teammate led an ememy from the opposing team over to me and they proceeded to knife/revive me about 20-25 times in a row. I was trapped in the corner and there was no way to escape. Luckily, artillery dropped nearby and they scattered but it was very fustrating considering that they gained all of these points while I was stuck with an excessive number of deaths. /93 confirmed
- I too experienced this with a player. Every time I have seen this player they have a kill to death for the round of at least 30 to 1 and they are impossible to kill. I played a game the other night, and having been playing for about half an hour this certain player, not to name anybody(deze.au) got on. Within 3 minutes their kill to death ratio was 19 to 1. In such unco-ordinated battles with granade whoring and such going on this just doesnt happen. I once emptied 60 rounds on another player like this, while they were coming towards me and he knifed me. This is just becoming way to popular in BF2 and all the fun is going from the game.
The game makers need to write code that cant be modifed. This would be unpractical, but would probably solve the hacking "epidemic" that is gradually taking over all games that were fun, even and fair on the internet.
How to avoid getting trapped in the above manner
- The timing may be tricky, but if you're willing to take a small points hit, click on the suicide button (bottom right of kit-selection screen) between being revived and killed again. They will be unable to revive you, and you can then spawn somewhere far away from the cheating jerks.
- The faster way is to unplug your internet connection. But this maybe means your losing your slot on the server.
- You can just bring up the spawn screen, and leave it open. The medic will be unable to revive you.
- Pretend to join their little cheating circle, and then kill them all.
Support
Two support guys of the same team throw away all their grenades and then resupply each other.
After doing so for 10 minutes, each of the two guys should have more than 200 teamwork points, but not a single kill or death. At the end of the round, one of them will be the top "ammo giver".
Usually, they seek a place far away from the battle. Especially on Strike at Karkand with it's low visibility range, this kind of cheating is very popular amongst stats cheaters.
Engineer
Similar to Medic, but using a vehicle (not knifing it) instead of a victim and repairing instead of reviving.
