BF2:Team Equipment
From BattleWiki
In Battlefield 2, your team has several pieces of equipment that commanders can use to aid you. All but the supplies can be destroyed by enemy Special Forces troops, you cannot use them until they are repaired by an Engineer. So, keep your equipment operational, and your enemy's equipment damaged.

Artillery
Artillery is a powerful weapon that can completely wipe out a defensive position. Commanders use artillery to shell various map locations, raining down explosive death for 5-10 seconds. Artillery can hit any AREA on a map, so it is key to assaulting enemy strongholds.
There is a delay between the time a team commander presses the artillery fire button and the actual barrage. During this delay time and during the barrage, an artillery icon appears at the barrage location on all friendly player's mini-maps. Evidently the delay allows friendly players to note the incoming barrage and leave the barrage location.
(We need a screenshot of the artillery here, and maybe a longer description)
On maps where the USMC main base is their aircraft carrier, the USMC artillery is located on shore.
Artillery will consist of one of more pieces depending on the map. Each artillery piece can be destroyed by 2 packs of Spec Ops Satchel charges. Other weapons can be used to destroy the artillery pieces, but the destruction tends to be tedious and time consuming. Once destroyed, the artillery piece will appear yellow on friendly player's mini-maps. An engineer can repair this asset.
UAV Trailer
The UAV trailer allows the commander to communicate with UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), which hover over locations on the battlefield and scan for hostile forces. UAVs can be helpful in revealing enemy troop concentration and movement to your whole team. You can see the UAV trailer somewhat in the distance on the lefthand side of this screenshot; it is a brownish rectangular building on wheels.
When the UAV is operating, all enemy units within the UAV's range will appear as red dots on friendly player's mini-maps.
The UAV trailer can be destroyed with 3 packs of Spec Ops Satchel charges. Once destroyed, the UAV trailer will appear yellow on friendly player's mini-maps. An engineer can repair this asset.
Radar
The radar emplacement allows the commander to scan the entire battlefield for enemy troops. While only the commander sees the results, this will reveal everything on the battlefield, unlike the UAVs which only cover a small section of map. The radar emplacement is in the foreground of this screenshot.
The radar can be destroyed with 2 packs of explosives. Once destroyed, the radar will appear yellow on friendly player's mini-maps. An engineer can repair this asset.
Supplies
The team commander can drop supplies any where on the map. The supplies come in the form of a parachuted crate, which can repair vehicles and assets, heal wounded and resupply soldiers and vehicles. Since it arrives via parachute from the air, it can land on top of buildings, vehicles and players, killing the player, of course.
This asset abilities can not be foiled by enemy forces. The supply crates actually dropped can be destroyed by enemy forces.
Team commanders should take special notice that these crates can repair assets like the UAV trailer, radar and artillery pieces.
As a commander, drop supplies crates or vehicles on enemy snipers to kill them. You don't get credit but it is fun. Players highlight snipers so the commander can find them and squash them.
