Avoiding getting run over
To avoid getting run over by jeeps, go prone right before it is about to hit you and the jeep should roll over. This works on some tanks and APCs. It is very important to do this at the last second so that the driver cannot correct himself. It is also a good way to keep this tip a secret.
Quickly enter vehicle
Hold down "E" as a friendly vehicle is coming at you; no matter how fast it's going, you'll be picked up unharmed. Also works while jumping of a building.
Defuse friendly and enemy mines
Engineers can defuse friendly and enemy mines and claymores by using the wrench on them; the cursor will change when you're close enough to pick up the device. Be aware though that claymores have a front and a back, go near the wrong side and kaboom!
AA Tips
Bombers can spot enemy vehicles and AA stations. So it's not wise to camp so much especially in the AA station since you're an extemely easy target. Hop into them only when you got something to shoot at within range.
Save a dead medic with his kit
Get your fingers familiar with the switch kit key. Default 'G'. I set mine to 'F' since it's a bit easier. It comes in handy if you want to save a medic that's dead. Pick up his kit and save him. Many medics will not appreciate this sort of revival, however, since it forces them to use the kit you were using previously. The medic will often prefer to wait the 10 seconds and just respawn somewhere else than have to change his play style because some grunt thought he was being helpful.
Use surroundings
Certain maps have barrels and tanks on the streets that can be blown up if you shoot at them. Use them to your advantage and be aware of your surroundings so you don't get owned by them.
Detonate dead allies C4
If you see a friendly spec ops attempting to C4 a tank, but he gets killed up before he can press the detonator, run over and pick up his kit. You can then press the detonator to blow up the tank yourself. Really important if there's no other AT or spec ops around.
Revive your squadleader
If your squad leader is a medic and gets killed, pick up his kit and use it to revive him. Hell, if he gets killed and isn't a medic, look around for other medic kits to pick up and use to revive him.
Firing modes
Hit 3 to switch between firing modes, depending on your weapon/kit you can choose Full auto, 3 shot burst and single fire. This can make HUGE difference in accuracy.
Slide down ladders
Pressing the sprint button while going down ladders will make you slide down the ladder. Quick way to get down without risking health jumping down. Also you can change to different camera views for some reason on the ladder.
Hidden Ladders
On a few maps, Mashtuur springs to mind, there are ladders that are hidden behind wooden barricades/fences. You can get to these in two ways, tricky little jump sequences which take you behind the fences, or simply throw a 'nade at them and blow the fences.
Sniper
Within 100m (untested at longer range) take one shot with the sniper rifle then quickly take out the pistol and take one shot. It's a kill, almost every time.
Stay zoomed in
Keep holding the fire button down after taking a sniper shot, you will be able to see where the bullet lands and adjust.
Avoid skylining
Avoid skylining yourself on ridges. If someone has sniper shots incoming the first place they look is towards any high ground. If they see a smooth green ridgeline against the blue sky and there is a supicious bump in the middle, they are going to start shooting back. That cool grass you're hiding in is not visible to them from far away; it's a limitation of the graphics engine.
Engineer
When mining remember that any flag you are defending your army may soon be attacking and that entrances are also exits. Don't mine friendly bases closed. Also, don't forget you can use your wrench to pick up mines.
Shotgun rocks
People highly underestimate the shotgun. It can take out people from 40 yards away with 3 or 4 shots
Watch out while repairing
Remember that while repairing friendly vehicles it is not so smart to be running up behind a friendly tank with your wrench out. Its a sure way to get backed over, repair them from the side if possible.
Spec. Ops.
Hide and stick C4
If you wanna hide C4 at a base, just throw it into the cement block that holds the flag up and it'll disappear. Also remember that you can stick C4 to everything.
Reports now say that C4 does not stick to infantry soldiers. The game originally had this feature but it was removed. Red Faction fans everywhere are devastated.
Lil' Bondy: An excellent (and rather cruel) tactic i have found, is to sneak into the enemy base, and attatch 1 c4 to every plane* and heli* you see (it only takes 1 for aircraft, so dont over do it), if you manage to get away without being noticed, this can come in hand later, as when you see a plane flying in the sky, just hit detonate and KA-BOOM
- Try attatching it somewhere they wont see, like in the thrusters of a plane, or the missiles of a heli
Antitank
Guide your anti-tank missiles
You can guide anti-tank missiles by moving the mouse after firing (you do not have to keep holding down the mouse button). Or you can aim above or beside your target. Then fire and wait until the missile gets close before putting the reticle over the target. That way, the target doesn't get a missile warning until a split second before your missile hits. Works great at long range.
Do more damage
When behind a tank, shoot the treads, not the chassis. It takes the tank out faster, and can be the difference between life and death.
Some reports indicate that shooting a tank from above and just behind the turret, does the most damage.
Tanks and APCs
Better view whilst guarding/capping flags
If you are in a tank or APC in an urban area guarding a flag or trying to cap it always stay in external view. This way you can see if any sneaky Spec Ops are trying to set C4 on your tank, or if any Engineers are trying to plant mines around you. Make sure you can swich to internal view or evac the vehicle quickly when you spot someone.
Shooting the Cannon
Shooting the cannon on armoured land vehicles is the same learning curve as using the grenade launcher since it also has a slight drop. It just takes little time to learn and you will get the feel for it. Shooting at helos is a little harder since the drop is greater at higher elevations. You have to lead the target by a large margin, especially when it is moving rapidly. You'll be amazed how much greater the lag time is when shooting upwards. This too can be overcome with a little practice and when you do you will be a menace to helos.
Be an Engineer when tanking
When coupled it can be the deadliest thing on the field. When your armor bar goes a lower then half bar, reverse and find a safe spot to repair then head back into combat. You get massive kill points and massive Engineer points and you will be suprised on how much repairing you will be doing to other vehicles you pass by.
Flag capturing
Instead of going in and capturing a flag, stay far away and shoot your cannon on spawning players until your teammates start to go in. It helps keep the enemies low for your teammates to go in. When you see any of your teammates capturing the flag, move in and give him protection and support. Your range is your advantage against infantry.
Against other tanks
Shoot and move. A moving target is harder to aim at. As a tanker, always find corners of buildings to shoot from. After you shoot you can easily reverse and get cover. Use your smoke when you have low armor left and find a safe place to repair.
Try to get a secondary gunner
Surprisingly Anti-tankers are not your worst enemy, Spec Ops are. You will get killed mostly from this class since they can insta-kill you and they tend to be sneaky and always come from behind. Have your support gunner look out for these people since your view is limited to where your barrel faces. Whenever you stop, use the external view to watch out for them.
Against Helos
When you see a helo coming straight at you, either start moving to to side, or move towards him. Staying at the line of his barrage of missles is not the smart thing to do. Moving to the side will make it hard on the helo to change directions and moving towards him will limit his time to get his missiles off. After he passes you, go back towards him and try to stay below him, limiting his view and shoot the belly of the helo. He will turn back around and realize you're not there.
Against Jets
Aeroplanes are another one of your worst enemies: they usually are too fast to even notice one coming. But if you do, try to stay out of his line of attack and do your best to shoot him (but firearms don't do much damage). Often, though, it's more effective to spot him (target him, hold down Q and left-click) so other members of your team can take him out.
Smoking
Remember, tanks and APC's can blow smoke by pushing X. This is great for flag assaults as it gives your grunts some concealment.
Swiching seats
When you're alone in an APC don't limit yourself to the driver seat. It has a bunch of seats with guns that you can use. So remember them and you can shoot those C4 monkeys in the face before they get a chance to blow you up. Learn to switch between the seats fast.
Self-healing-gunner
If you have a friend for a gunner, have them go medic. That way they can duck down and heal themselves when taking damage.
Planes
Creep up from behind
For plane dogfighting, switch to bombing mode while chasing down planes. You can sneak behind them, then switch to missiles when you're lined up and surprise them since they won't get the alarm while you are in bombmode.
Watch your bombs land
When doing bomb runs hit the external camera to get the nose back view. This way you can spot where your bombs land. This is particularly useful advice for when you're practicing (you do practice on an empty multiplayer map you create as a local server, right?).
MG Power
Say you are behind another plane that is flying steady and doesn't know about you. Make sure you have the bombing sight, don't switch over, just tear him up with the machineguns. The MG's are very good against other air assets and he won't even notice until he's dead.
Many pilots fly at or near full speed
Is there an enemy jet on your tail that refuses to go away? Begin decelerating and start making a sharp turn. I find that many enemy jets simply overshoot you if you do this, but keep in mind, you're a lot more vulnerable to AA missiles at slower speeds, so consider having flares ready.
Helos
Repair with supply crates
Helicopters can be repaired using the supply crates. So get your commander to set one up in a good spot so you don't always have to fly back to the pad to repair/resupply
Repair on enemy airbase
Once you capture an enemy air base, you can use their runway and helipads to repair and to get ammo.
Look around
Before taking off in a chopper, look around in mouse-look mode by holding the CTRL key, or alternatively (in an attack chopper) press F2 to get in the gunners seat. This can help look around for anyone who needs a ride.
Capping in a Blackhawk
When flying the blackhawk, make sure you are the squad leader and fly it HIGH. Hover over a cap point and your team mates can spawn in on you and parachute out.
Alternatively, you may get a whole squad to sit on the guns in the chopper. Put an engineer or two at the back to repair. With a full chopper you can near-instantly cap any point. However, this tactic is frowned upon in many circles.
- Note: changed in recent update. One vehicle counts as one person capping the point.
Commander
Repair assets with supply crates
As commander you have the option of repairing the artillery, UAV trailer and radar dish by dropping a supply crate nearby.
Hide!
Find a hiding spot and stay there and focus all your attention to the comander controls. You may not get as many kills or points but it really helps your team. Look for commanding spots which are only accessible by helicopter.
Repair your own assets
Commanders benefit from using the engineer kit as it allows for them to easily repair the artillery, UAV, and radar without wasting a supply drop or calling an engineer out from a squad.
Other tips
All english, all the time
Tired of not understanding the incoming artillery warnings as MEC or China? Set "English VO Only" under Options->Audio->Language
Increase FoV in the air
Hitting C a couple times, or F9 (cockpit view) will remove the model of your plane/heli. This greatly increases the field of view.
Use that middle mouse button
Sure, the mousewheel can be used to choose your weapon, but you can also push the mousewheel in, it's a third mouse button. This button is unmapped by default, so make it something you do a lot. I map it to my handgun ("2") so I can quickly get this out when in a close-quarters fight and I'm out of ammo. Other ideas: next weapon, parachute, scoreboard, VOIP. Ahhh, for a seven-button mouse! Note that you can also map this button for use in vehicles, aircraft, etc.: smoke and flares come to mind.
Get down mountains fast and safe - In vehicle
On maps with cliffs, use the vehicle to slide/drop down the declines to get to lower roads quicker. If done right your vehicle will take no or almost no damage and you save loads of time. Also if there is a body of water an APC will take no damage and requires little skill to do.
Get down mountains fast and safe - On foot
When you are on foot you can get yourself down a mountain with many odd angles with minimal loss of health by spamming jump and 9 -buttons as soon as your feet touch the ground. Pressing jump while on a diagonal slant will actually push you away from the face of the mountain that could avoid other odd protrusions. The best place to practice this is Songhua Stalemate map by the American most rearward base.

Get credit for destroying vehicles with measly bullets
If you ever see an enemy occupied vehicle that looks like its either about to blow up or crash and burn very soon, shoot it! Even if it was an ally's tank shell or grenade that caused it to initially catch fire, if you are the person that shot it last before it blows up, you get the credit for the kills. Yes, this even works on helis and jets! Especially for helis, there are countless times this tactic has came in useful to me when a low flying enemy chopper trying to cap one of our flags ends up losing control, and I see it about to crash into a wall so I keep shooting it with my G36C until it does and I end up getting the credit for killing the pilot and everyone he was flying with, when it was really just the crappy pilot's fault :D
iStormy: I shoot 1 bullet at every plane and chopper that goes by. I often get kill credit a minute or two later when it crashes.
If you want to try this against armor, you will probably have to try throwing a grenade right next to it when its about to explode, as the tanks armor is 100% bulletproof (you don't get an 'x' on your crosshair for shooting a tank with a bullet)
Destroying more command assets with C4
C4 is about the only economical way to blow up UAVs, Radar, and Artillery. You can blow up commander assets easier if you have a vehicle near it to make the explosion stronger. Normally it takes 3 C4's to blow up the UAV scan trailer. If you put 2 C4's on the hood of a dune buggy, drive it to the scan trailer and denonate, this will take it out. And you can use the leftover 3 to blow up the radar dish as well. Now you can destroy 2 assets per trip! (from a post by AzianPhoenix)
I am not sure about this one. I am quite certain that it only takes 2 c4 packs to blow up any of the commander assets.
I'm really sure, that a spec op needs only 2 C4's for UAV, Radar and Artillery. 3 are needed for bridges (note: the big bridge in Mashtuur City needs 3 two times!), 2 for tanks and armoured vehicles, but just 1 for planes and 2 for helos.
